Playmates

I struck gold!!! Lilly and Stevie play together!! Hallelujah!!! Lilly thinks she is playing with Stevie even though she is just watching or sometimes she will have her own toy but she laughs and giggles at everything Stevie does. Stevie will talk to her like she is playing with him and is is precious!!!
Stevie can get right in her face or even push her down and she loves it. It is like he can do no wrong....I wonder how long that will last!!

If I get into the mix, we all play ball. Stevie will throw it to us, Lilly giggles, we pick it up and throw it back. I can't get over how much they like each other. I don't think Ad and I got along very much till we were older...hopefully they stay close.

Although, I did have to break up my first tussle between the two of them. Made me feel like a real mom. I have a double stroller and Stevie was sitting in the front, Lilly in her car seat in the back and she leaned over, grabbed a handful of Stevie's hair and pulled. Stevie yelled at her and pinched her back. Lilly didn't cry, she just yelled back and grabbed more hair. I had to work hard not to laugh. I have a feeling Lilly will not be pushed around...good for her. Stevie is so gentle with her...for the most part.

Pirate Nana

This is the pirate kit Stevie got at Brendan's party. Remember the picture of Stevie bawling all dressed up? Anyway, Nana and Lilly were playing with it...

At first Lilly didn't recognize Nana and she was a little hesitant about who the crazy lady singing pirate songs was...but then she warmed up and they had a great time playing.

Lilly has started singing with anyone who will sing to her. Like when I'm trying to sing her to sleep, she starts cooing right along with me. So She and Nana were singing pirate songs together. So funny! and of course cute!!!

She loves her Nana!!

Peak-a-Boo!

Solid Foods

My baby girl is growing up way too fast. She is already eating solid foods. I have been told I was supposed to wait until 6 months, but we only started 2 weeks early and this kid was ready. We did one day of rice cereal and then moved right along. She has had potatoes, carrots, beans, tomatoes, bread, corn...this kid is eating the food fit for the gods because it is right out of Nana and Papa's garden. So when we eat, I just take a small amount add some water and puree it. She loves it. She has had apple sauce, yogurt, and we even hand her a piece of bread or a huge slice of yummy tomato and she chows down.

Stevie had so much trouble digesting food...we were worried at first...but not with this one. She is fascinated by us eating and loves tasting new things. Let me tell you, she has no trouble passing it through either...she farts like a man and I can't seem to find a diaper that can contain her new and improved poop!

We are working on getting her to take a sippy cup, but this child is stubborn...I wonder where she gets it...neither of her parents are that way!!!

So far she will drink out of one if the little stopper is removed, but she hasn't got the hang of having to suck stuff out yet. I'm sure it is only a matter of time!

She has a streak of intensity about her too...wonder where that came from... And look at the red hair. It's not red red or auburn, or strawberry colored... it is more of a golden red. Absolutely beautiful if you ask me!

Our freind Brendan

Brendan came to our house and played for the afternoon so his parents could get a quick date. We had a great time when he was here. The boys played for about 3 hours and didn't fight once. Stevie shared and Brendan shared and it was a miracle.

Dad and Stevie showed Brendan the corn patch and he helped pick and husk the corn. He wouldn't eat any though. Maybe next time.

After date night, Kirk and Wendy had dinner at our house. The boys had already eaten so they found other things to keep them occupied. They are using tongs to pinch the water in the bird feeder and having a ball. This shot was after they had used the "pinchers" to take each ear of corn to the compost pile after we had finished eating them. Busy busy boys. I love the butt shot!
Of course it is hard to keep close on Stevie...he is always naked. I hope Brendan didn't pick up that habit from us...

I like this picture too because of the flowers behind them. I did edit it so if any perverts are reading this sight, they won't get much of a show.

The two of them were pretty intense in trying to pinch the water.

We are so lucky to have found such great friends in the area.

Giddy-UP

We went the the War-Bonnet rodeo last Saturday and had a great time. I did a crappy job of taking picutres. We went with our freinds Brendan and his mom and dad Wendy, and Kirk...but I didn't get a single picuture of them. Or the rodeo for that matter. Papa, Stevie and I went. Nana and Lilly stayed home. Nana doesn't like how mean the cow-boys are to the calves when they rope and tie them up. We don't either so Wendy and I cheered every time one of the calves got away. Does that make us un-rodeo-like? Oh well.

Stevie enjoyed the pre-show and just as the rodeo was about to start he picked up his snacks and blanket and told me it was time to go home. We managed to convinse him to stay with popcorn and cotton candy. Those would have convinced me too.

Stevie liked the horsese the best I think. One of the bucking horses jumped the fense after he threw his rider off. He cleared 3 of his legs but 1 got caught on the wrong side of the fense and Stevie was pretty worried about it. He talked about that for a couple of days after.

There was a concert after the rodeo but Stevie had had enough. He was about to fall alseep on the bench so we called it a night. It was good time.

the word "cute"

I have come the realization that I use the word cute a ton throughout this blog. I will work on expanding my vocab!!! Please bare with me...my kids are just dang cute!!!

Brother and Sister

These two are so cute together. Now that Lilly can sit up, they even play together. Stevie is blowing raspberries on Lilly's tummy and she loves it.

It doesn't get any cuter than this. What a good big brother because right after this shot, Lilly got a handful of Stevie's hair and pulled. Stevie didn't even complain.

I'm not dead...I promise

I'm not dead, just busy...there are never enough hours in the day for everything I would like to do. So we have just been busy. But I have some very cute pictures to show everyone so I hope you have time to read a couple of these entries.

My daughter loves to conduct music and that is why in every picture her arms are in the air. She is just too cute!

And Stevie now has to do everything Lilly does...I think we have a little green monster in the house. It is ok though because even though he is jealous, he is still so cute and sweet with her. And she absolutely adores him.

Lilly was going through this phase where she wouldn't let very many people hold or love on her. She only wanted me or Papa. And you can tell that Papa just hates having to hold her... These pictures were taken about a week ago and she will now let Nana love on her too.

I love this shot...it makes me think that this is what it was like when I was a baby.

She and her papa are pretty dang close. I hate that Steve is away from us...but a bright note is my kids will really be close to their grandparents.
