When Stevie was little and we lived in Alabama...yes we actually lived in Alabama...the only time we could go outside and play in the summer was during a rain storm. It would get so hot there the city would put out advisory warnings to keep your kids inside from 10am to 6pm. But a rain storm was perfect weather. The water would be warm and the ground would be warm so Stevie and I could play for hours.
This child has loved water from the moment he was born. This is Stevie and I right after his first birthday in
Dothan, AL in the parking lot of our
apartment. The parking lot was the best place to play because the
asphalt stayed warm.
Now that we are in Savannah, and the weather is more comfortable, we don't go out in the rain as much. And the rain storms here aren't as gentle or warm. This last weekend, we had one heck of a storm. I have never heard thunder so loud, or seen as much lightening as this night. We had both kids in our bed and were up for about 2 hours watching the storm. The next day, it rained all day long. We had massive puddles and buckets of water everywhere! It definitely wasn't as nice of a rain as in Alabama, but Stevie enjoyed playing outside in it until he got cold.
He loved that he got to deck out in his rain gear. The coat and the umbrella were half the fun. I love that this kid is so adventurous!
